Match Report
Vincent Kompany’s team lost their early lead at the start of the second half when Josha Vagnoman equalized, cancelling out Dayot Upamecano’s earlier header.
However, goals from Michael Olise and Aleksandar Pavlović—sandwiched around an own goal by Vagnoman himself—along with a late strike from Luis Díaz, secured a decisive victory for the hosts.
Olise hit the outside of the post with a precise free-kick from about 23 meters out before Bayern took the lead in the 21st minute; Upamecano found the net following a corner taken by Joshua Kimmich.
Fabian Bredlow made excellent saves to deny Luis Díaz and Nathaniel Brown before halftime, but Bayern conceded in the 52nd minute when Vagnoman beat Manuel Neuer with a spectacular volley.
Nevertheless, the hosts quickly regained control of the match, scoring twice in the space of just two minutes. Olise capitalized on a through-ball from Kimmich to put his team ahead, and shortly after, Vagnoman unluckily deflected a low cross from Alphonso Davies into his own net.
In the 64th minute, a goal by Olise was disallowed for offside following a VAR review.
Bayern managed to score a fourth goal in the 82nd minute: substitute Ismael Saibari beat an opponent by cutting inside and set up Pavlović, who scored from close range. Saibari turned provider again in the second minute of stoppage time, sending Díaz through on the counter-attack; the latter sealed the final score with a confident finish, capping off an excellent team performance.
